Do you sew your own garments? Do you love to follow along with other makers on social media? Are you, like me, greatly inspired by all the patterns being designed and sewn by independent sewists all over the world? If you answered yes to any or all of these questions, then join me as we sew an indie garment pattern together!
Join me as we sew the Juniper Dress from indie designer Tiana Herring. This pattern has been on my radar since the first pattern test announcement last year! It’s a shirt dress with several adorable upgrades that will push you to learn something completely new (zippers and collars!) while making the cutest spring staple ever.
This is an intermediate level pattern; to take this class you must be comfortable using a sewing machine, understand basic sewing skills, and have followed a sewing pattern previously.

You are welcome to bring your own machine or use one at the city sewing room.
What to bring:
- fabric : You will need a woven fabric for this dress, and I encourage you to embrace your creativity when choosing. The silhouette will change based on the drape of your fabric; a heavyweight or thick woven will create more of a bubble shape, and a lightweight drapey fabric will hang closer to the body. I can’t wait to see what you choose!
- pattern : Make sure to purchase and look over your pattern before attending the event so you can hit the ground running. Get the pattern here.
