Do you sew your own garments? Do you love to follow along with other makers on social media? Are you, like me, greatly inspired by all the patterns being designed and sewn by independent sewists all over the world? If you answered yes to any or all of these questions, then join me as we sew an indie garment pattern together!
Join me this month at the City Sewing Room as we sew the newly released Colorblock Set from beloved indie pattern company; Matchy Matchy Sewing Club. The Colorblock Set sewing pattern brings effortless style, bold colorplay, and endless creativity to your handmade wardrobe. This beginner-friendly pattern is an exciting twist on the popular Craft Studio Tee, reimagined with a modern checkerboard design and three versatile views—so you can make it your own.
Some elements you will be learning as you sew are: a bias bound neckline, gathers, and seam finishing. This is a great building block pattern for your collection, as the pattern has three views to sew, all while using the same basic pattern piece as the starting point.
The pattern is available for FREE and is sure to become part of your wardrobe capsule collection!
This is an advanced beginner level pattern, so to take this class you must understand how to use a sewing machine, have sewn at least one garment, and be able to read and follow a sewing pattern.
You are welcome to bring your own machine or use one at the city sewing room.
What to bring:
- fabric : light to medium weight wovens are perfect for this project
- pattern : Make sure to purchase and tape together your pattern before attending the event. (Trust me - you won’t regret getting it out of the way!) Get the pattern here.
