Are you ready to jump head first into the world of garment sewing, but looking for a detailed sew-along to get all your sewing questions answered? Do you love working through a project with others in order to gain different perspectives on how to execute it? Have you tried sewing a garment before in the past and given up due to the poorly written instructions and tissue paper pattern pieces?
If you feel like I’m describing your exact experiences, then this Intro to Garment Sewing class is for YOU!
Join me at the City Sewing Room to sew a fabulous FREE indie sewing pattern from Seamwork - The Hansie Top. It’s the perfect pattern to get your garment sewing engine running, and will teach you the basics of garment construction, as well as give you an understanding of how to make a garment that actually fits your unique body. (Because we’re ALL tired of buying clothes that are made for a basic block that fits no one!)
This is an beginner level pattern, so to take this class you must understand how to use a sewing machine and be ready to push yourself to learn new things!
You are welcome to bring your own machine or use one at the city sewing room.

What to bring:
- fabric : light to medium weight woven are perfect for this project. Simple quilting cotton would be great for this project!
- pattern : Make sure to download and tape together your pattern before attending the event. (Trust me - you won’t regret getting it out of the way!) Get the pattern here.
You may also shop the Maker’s Mart at the City Sewing Room the evening of the event. Their fabric is donated from the community and there is always something unique. (plus most is only $2 a pound so you can plan to get enough for a few garments!).
THIS EVENT IS SOLD OUT - fill out the form below to join the waitlist
*** Note: the reality of a sew-along is that you might not walk out of this class with a finished garment; we will discuss the possibility of a PART 2 for this class the afternoon of the event. ***
