Pattern Drafting: T-Shirt

  • City Sewing Room 6700 Arsenal Street St. Louis, MO, 63139 United States (map)

Are you interested in creating patterns to fit your personal measurements but not sure where to start? Then this is the sewing class for you! Join me as we follow a tutorial from sewist Melissa at Melly Sews for how to draft a t-shirt pattern from your own personal measurements. (No more spending money on t-shirts that don’t fit!!!) Friends, this is going to be a fun one.

This is an intermediate level class, so to participate you must understand how to use a sewing machine and basic sewing techniques, as well as be comfortable with learning basic pattern adjustments.

You are welcome to bring your own machine or use one at the city sewing room.

What to bring:

- fabric : t-shirt fabric; this is completely personal preference. A cotton knit with at least 20% 2-way stretch is a good place to start, but feel free to experiment with your fabric choices. (You will be able to shop the makers mart the night of the event, but I highly recommend you bring your own fabric, pre-washed, because you never know what you’ll find when you leave it up to the Maker’s Mart gods).
